Catalan tensile tray used as base for rural Catalan lidded basket. Baskets originally used to transport birds and animals. The use of cane (which grows profusely in the region) for the sidings made the baskets lighter whilst still providing adequate protection. Taught by @monicacistellera@weavingbythesea 2018. A great experience.

Catalonian ‘Nansa’ fishtrap technique taught by Monica Guilera Subirana @monicacistellera. The border is completed. Such a lovely place to learn this fascinating form of basketry. @weavingbythesea Vilanova i la Geltru.
A real privilege to learn about the traditional Catalan ‘Nansa’ fishtrap structures from Monica Guilera Subirana @monicacistellera being taught @weavingbythesea in Vilanova i la Geltru. Very sore fingers after day two of tying knots. A really wonderful technique though.
Last chance to see ‘Transition’ at The Espacio Gallery. We are open 11.00 - 4.00 tomorrow. Can’t believe it’s our final day. Don’t let the rain keep you away. Lots to see in such a vibrant and creative area of town.
We are open! Great to be part of London Design Festival. Work looks great in new venue.
