🍓 Let’s talk about @Volition Strawberry-C . I won’t be doing a full review on this one (I actually got it for my sister but couldn’t resist snapping a few shots 📸). So, I wanted to take a quick minute to evaluate the ingredient list. I won’t discuss every ingredient but let’s look at some of the major ones… ( #’s indicate position in ingredient list) . 1️⃣&2️⃣Water & Cucumber Water - provide hydration and act as a solvent for other skin-loving ingredients! 3️⃣Glyerin - a humectant that helps to draw moisture to the surface of your skin. 4️⃣Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate - a preservative that is derived through the fermentation of radish roots. It appears surprisingly high on the ingredient list considering the manufacturer suggested usage rate is 2-4%. 5️⃣&6️⃣Strawberry Seed Extract & Strawberry Fruit Extract - arguably the hero ingredients of the product; strawberries are known to be very high in Vitamin C. Interestingly, I cannot find a single piece of literature that specifies the concentration of Vitamin C actually present Strawberry Seed or Fruit Extract but it’s safe to assume there is at least some. 🔟 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid: a modified version of Ascorbic Acid (aka. pure Vitamin C). It is more stable in comparison but lacks the depth of research supporting it’s benefit in skincare. That being said, it has been shown effective in combating hyperpigmentation. . The serum also contains 9️⃣ Panthenol and 8️⃣ Sodium Hyaluronate both of which are great! While I don’t feel Strawberry-C is a necessary addition to my routine, I do think it’s a gentle, clean, user friendly serum perfect for my baby sis. . But to those of you who HAVE tried this, what do you think?
