Sunday morning sit spot. Watching the wind move the willows, turning up the silvery underside of their leaves. Such a cool, clean morning. The backyard, after seven years is mostly weeds now, success!!! More flowers for the bees, more shelter for the bunnies and birds. We’ve got a good balance going between permaculture and Rewilding. Anyway, just sitting here drinking coffee and staring at the butternut squash and pumpkin starters. The plant people are quite miraculous. Having a garden is cultivating friendships and connections with the more than human world. How satisfying it is to be with other growing beings from other species and to get to know them as the days go by. Every school should teach organic gardening and permaculture. It’s the sense of empathy and connection with other life forms that can lead us to greater empathy and awareness with other humans.
