Hydrangeas love the rain. Me less. This was one seating option I didn’t take up yesterday. I gave myself a day-off. A proper, without parenting or life-admin day off. Took the train to London to do things that bring me joy; hired a TFL bike and cycled through Hyde Park. Visited the V&A, which is where I took this photo in the garden cafe, saw the Mary Quant exhibition (wonderful). Went to Trinny London and played with make up. Got the bus to Piccadilly, sat upstairs at the front. Met an old friend for afternoon tea at the Cafe Royal and thoroughly enjoyed catching up over lavender tea and fancy cakes. In my travels, I read a book and opted out of any hint of news. What a difference a day makes. It was an indulgent day out, but we all need that every so often. Hoping to inspire similar in other people? What would be your grand day out and when are you going to make time for it?
