MEETING ME | This book was truly a DIY project: the writing, the layout, the cover, the design, everything. But there are a few notable contributors, knowing or not, that need loving acknowledgment. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ To my parents for raising an Enneagram 4, letting me enter poetry contests growing up and do more writing classes in high school than most, and sacrificially funding my transformative degree in Creative Writing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ To my husband for encouraging me to go through with publication, even with the cost in mind, in the interest of how much this meant to me and who could be helped by it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ To my dear friend @caraleeashton for executing the cover. After I planned, physically made, shot (with her camera), and designed it, she reproduced it with her expert tools and her eye for graphic quality, and her work was absolutely vital. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ To a friend of a friend, Julie, who passed along a DVD in 2013 about healing the “unhealable.” I never had any hope of healing before that, and that first glimmer of light changed absolutely everything. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ To Annie Hopper for healing herself and then developing DNRS ( @retrainingthebrain) that I healed through. This book would not exist had I not healed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ To God for making me and placing the gift, drive, and fire of creativity in me. And for turning the ashes of human-caused illness into the beauty of health and hope that I can now hand to others.
