I was so happy when I was in the car yesterday, and I heard, You Say, by Lauren Daigle air in mainstream pop radio. I came across this song about six months ago, and to me this track is like a nostalgic homecoming that inspires me to believe in the wonder of faith, believe in myself and the heartening beauty that I, and every one of us, deserve in our lives. The first time that I heard this song, the lyrics and emotional offering of Daigle's vocals deeply moved me, and sitting up on my bed at about 2:30am, it retrospectively unveiled an enlightened perspective of companionship in my previous pauses of isolating uncertainty and doubt. You Say, married my sequential stages of ambiguity with every other miscellaneous voice in the world that is experiencing the same precarious introspection. Sometimes it can feel like that there is the world, and then there is you. We can feel so affected, that we squander sight our individual strength, self-appreciation and self-love. And when we fail these attributes in ourselves, we can evolve into a dilapidated shell of insecurity, fear, anger and alienation. Daigle's poignant song is candidly a megaphone that radiantly expresses the consolidated vulnerabilities of I, you and so many of our peers. It awakens us to embrace our missteps, insecurities and fears, as these provide us with an authentic perspective, knowledge and voice in the world. Have a listen to this track; it serves a powerful, uplifting and beautiful message that should make you feel proud of who you are and motivate you to be better and do better by you.
