There’s a bit of reflective glint obscuring some areas, but rendering an ear & tortoise-shell eyeglasses in silverpoint have me needing some 🍺 right about now!
This shiny silverpoint & copperleaf drawing is off to @daciagallery soon!
If you know me, you know that my husband is the sculptor @brett_f_harvey . Imagine my pride when @tunmyaing makes a poignant video about Brett’s world & how he views it. Throwback to this massive silverpoint eye that I drew of @miklo34 (that’s my beloved stylus for scale)
This detail is from a silverpoint & silverleaf drawing I did of my favorite human. My abuela’s birthday is tomorrow & she only gets better with age: sassier, sweeter (with me at least), still enamored of Chuck Norris (not joking).
This time 3 years ago, I was making miniatures for @dianacorvelle ‘s wonderful group exhibition “Love It, Locket, Leave It” inspired by Victorian Lover’s Eye lockets, at @islandweissgallery ! Wow, how time flies ... these are tiny, tiny silverpoint Lover’s Eyes of yours truly & @brett_f_harvey
Fiiiiiiinally did it: I’m now on Twitter. It’ll mostly feature writing & announcements. Feel free to follow me there @ lauren_amalia_r !

Another install shot of silverpoint & silverleaf drawings from my solo show, “Of Silver & Sword,” up at @msartgallerylosangeles last month! Missing @alejandramschneider & San Pedro dearly!

I promise, this shiny mess is necessary. 👀
I have a recent obsession with old-fashioned scissors. And drawing from imagination is, indeed, terrifying. Silverpoint on gessoed wooden palette. Incomplete, as a lot of gilding will go on this (because I’m a masochist).
Another great video produced by @myaing_projects called “Save Your Art with Archival Art Materials.” It’s shorter & a bit more informal than the previous video, and a bit more universally applicable to any art practice. Click the link in bio to check it out!
Working entirely from imagination. Terrifying but much more stimulating. Silverpoint on the palette you can see me priming in @myaing_projects ‘ video a couple posts back!
This lady will be up tonight for @inliquidart ‘s dynamic Benefit in Philadelphia! Silverpoint on paper. Tried to pull a Steven Assael by using a razor to incise highlights but alas, he alone is the master of that technique!
The big reveal: follow the link in my bio to watch “Secrets if Creating an Everlasting Ground,” the beautiful video made by @myaing_projects of silverpoint and how to make the traditional gesso integral to that medium! Please check out the other videos on Myaing Projects’ YouTube and stay tuned for more dynamic content in the future!
Exciting news to be released tomorrow ... 📽🎞📽
Graphite drawing on butcher paper to transfer to my prepared panel. Composition was very specific so I wanted to ensure that I could erase & adjust the drawing before making incisions to transfer, then completing the drawing in an inerasable medium: silverpoint! Big challenges on this: lots of gilding & working mostly from imagination.
Dropped off this large silverpoint, “Corona,” at the Salmagundi Club in Manhattan for their Annual Members’ Exhibition opening October 30th & running through November 30th! Join me at the opening reception on November 12th!
